Gerald Moore Gallery is thrilled to annouce that Big Local Refocused Mottingham have awarded us £30,000 for a three year project called 'Art Therapy and Wellbeing in Schools'.
The project support primary aged children with their emotional wellbeing through Art therapy, using the gallery's exhibition and collection as a stimulus, in therapy sessions and gallery visits. It also supports teachers with their emotional development through wellbeing activities and CPD events, both in school and at the gallery.
We are working with three different primary schools each year in the Mottingham area starting with Mottingham Primary in April 2021.
In 2023 the project will culminate with a free public art exhibition on the importance of 'Art for Health and Wellbeing' bringing together some of the works and findings from the schools who participated in the project to promote this message to a wider community.
