This October half term, the Gerald Moore Gallery is hosting fun and educational art workshops inspired by Halloween.
Each workshop runs from 10am – 2.30pm with a lunch break from 12pm – 12.30pm.
Below are the workshops on offer:
Aged 9 – 16
We will explore different mixed-media painting techniques such a stippling, layering and wet on wet.
Aged 7 – 13
Working sculpturally, we will build mixed- media zombie limbs. In the afternoon, we will paint the limbs to create scary features.
Aged 7 – 13
Taking inspiration from Indonesian shadow puppets, you will design and create your own shadow hero or monster with movable limbs.
Transform into a monster! Costume Making
Aged 7 – 13
You will design and create your own costume. In the morning session, we will design and create a mask(s). After lunch, you will make a pair of gloves, a hat, a cape and/or other accessories to complement your mask(s).
Create a Spooky Haunted House!
Aged 9 – 16
Miniature houses can also be scary! Design and create your own model haunted house and decorate it with cobwebs, a spooky picket fence and other frightening features.
Aged 9 – 16
Learn how to create different animals, toys and figures using a variety of complex origami techniques.
Aged 7 – 13
In the morning session, you will be carving out a scary pumpkin head. After lunch, you will paint and decorate your pumpkin and turn it into a scary monster.
