Get creative this summer holiday by joining our fun, engaging, and educational art workshops at the Gerald Moore Gallery.
Designed for children aged 7–11 and 10–15, our sessions are led by professional artists and tailored to suit a range of abilities. With small class sizes (6–12 participants), each workshop is well-resourced, giving students the freedom to experiment, build confidence, and enjoy the creative process.
A great opportunity for young people to explore new techniques and express their creativity in a supportive environment.

Sculpting Clay Animals
Ages 7 – 11Love working with clay? In this fun and creative workshop, you’ll sculpt your very own animal—inspired by pictures and drawings of animals. Create the textures of fur using a brush too or sculpt limbs and faces, create an animal clay sculpture you feel proud to show to your friends and family.

Weaving & Sewing Crafts
Ages 7 - 11In this creative workshop, participants will explore textile art through weaving and sewing. Children will experiment with patterns, colours, and shapes, and personalise their work with accessories such as buttons and beads.
By the end of the session, each participant will have created 2–3 handmade items, such as a fabric folder or a small bag, to take home, use, and proudly share with friends and family.

Fashion Designer for a Day
Ages 7 - 11Step into the exciting world of fashion design! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll sketch your own clothing ideas, explore a variety of fun fabrics and materials, and bring your vision to life by styling a mini mannequin. Learn the basics of sewing and garment construction, sewing machines will be available and used under supervision for younger participants. A perfect mix of creativity, style, and making!

Create Your Own Boardgame
Ages 7 - 11Design and build the board game of your dreams! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own game board, sculpt a custom die, and invent unique characters and rules. Once your masterpiece is complete, you'll get to play and test it out with other participants. Perfect for sharing with friends and family over the summer holidays!

Be a Miniature Theatre Designer For a Day
Ages 7 - 11Love going to the theatre and watching shows? In this imaginative workshop, participants will step into the role of a theatre designer for the day. Children will create their own miniature stage sets and characters, bringing their ideas to life through painting and model-making.
At the end of the session, everyone will animate and present their scenes to the group, sharing their creative stories in a fun and supportive environment.

Painting Still Life Using Acrylic
In this focused workshop, participants will learn how to paint a realistic still life using acrylics on canvas. The session will explore how to observe light and shadow, build depth, and create a balanced, visually engaging composition.
This is an ideal class for students who want to develop their painting skills and gain confidence in creating more refined and accomplished artworks.

Discover the exciting process of dry-point etching in this hands-on workshop. Participants will learn how to create detailed prints from their own sketches or illustrations, using an etching press and experimenting with different types of paper.
This workshop is ideal for students looking to explore a new technique for GCSE or A-level Art, and to build a strong, diverse sketchbook.

In this energetic and experimental workshop, participants will create bold, large-scale charcoal drawings. The session encourages students to think big, work expressively, and develop confidence in mark-making.
We will also explore combining charcoal with inks, graphite, and a variety of drawing tools to create rich textures and layered effects. This is a fun, hands-on and slightly messy workshop designed to push creative boundaries and develop observational drawing skills.
