Tell us a story...

13 January - 19 February 2022

'Tell us a story...' is an exhibition celebrating storytelling through visual means, featuring works from emerging and contemporary illustrators and animators.

This is the first exhibition focused on illustration and animation that the Gerald Moore Gallery has curated, and each work has been selected by students aged 11-18 from Eltham College, for their ability to spark imagination and delve into other worlds.

'Tell us a story...' opens 13 January 2022 and will begin a series of celebrations for the Gerald Moore Gallery's 10-year anniversary. The gallery was made possible by the generous contribution of Dr Gerald Moore and is a centre for art and learning within the grounds of Eltham College. Dr Moore, himself was an avid artist and family man, and during his lifetime created a story book for his children titled, 'The Cuckoo who flew backwards', about a cuckoo who heads to Heathfield Park to sing in the spring – which was the previous home of the author and his family.

Illustrations and quotes from this book will be available to view alongside the new contemporary works and the exhibition will coincide with storytelling and illustration workshops for the public during the February half term.
