In July, we were delighted to welcome Sofia Serpa Arango as an intern through the Goldsmiths Santander Internship Programme, supported by Goldsmiths, University of London and Santander Universities.
Over the course of three weeks, Sofia contributed across a range of tasks at the gallery — from running art facilitation workshops and assisting with installations, to cataloguing our archive. She approached every task with professionalism and a positive, can-do attitude.
A recent graduate of the BFA (Hons) at Goldsmiths, Sofia’s interdisciplinary art practice explores themes of migration and (non)belonging, often told through narrative and storytelling, and expressed in the form of paintings and sculptures.
She is currently undertaking a residency at Lewisham Arthouse and will be presenting a solo exhibition titled ‘El color de las cosas idas: The colour of things past’, opening in late September 2025.
