Family Crafternoons
During the school holidays we regularly hold 'Family Crafternoon' events where we open up the gallery and create some arts and crafts together. These afternoons are for the local community and are a great place to meet other local families and spend time crafting with your children. We will provide free art materials for kids and adults to explore making in a fun and easy-going atmosphere. Children would need to be supervised by adults.
They are free to attend and book up fast so keep checking our social media and website.
The next free Crafternoon is on Saturday 25th October 2025, 1.30 -3.30pm. In this session, we will be creating sculptures using unconventional materials and different sculptural techniques.

As part of the exhibition programme of NOW 2025, artist Mengyi Zhang will run a free Piaoqi (floating lacquer) fan workshop where families will make their own colourful lacquer fans on Saturday 15th November 2025 10.30am - 12pm. Discover the traditional Chinese art of lacquer painting on fans, a practice that has been passed down for over two thousand years. Using an intriguing marbling technique, you'll explore this ancient craft and create a beautiful fan to take home and treasure.
