Gerald Moore Gallery is delighted to present NOW 2022a group exhibition featuring exciting new works by recent graduates from some of the best art schools in London. Opening on Thursday 22nd September at 4 pmNOW 2022  will showcase works by Kainoa Gruspe (Slade Fine Art MA), Bartlomiej Hajduk (Slade Fine Art MA), Selina Naouma (RCA Photography MA), Krystle Patel (Goldsmiths Fine Art MA)Hanne Peeraer (RCA Painting MA), and Cherry Song (Slade Fine Art BA).

 

This is the second time the gallery is hosting NOW and in the first iteration, the group included Josef Yaeger, Jung Min Park, Susan Rocklin and Alexandra Searle.

 

The Private View is on Thursday 22nd September 4pm to 8pm.

The exhibition will open every Saturday 10am to 4pm until 22nd October 2022 or by appointment for other days.

 

As part of the exhibition programme, the gallery will host its inaugural Visual Arts Career Day on 1st October 2022 from 10am to 4pm. The day will include talks from working professionals in the Visual Arts and Design, Q&A, light refreshments and the opportunity to network. For more information, please click HERE.

Artists:

Kainoa Gruspe (Slade Fine Art MA) is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and has been living in London for the past three years. He received a BFA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2017 and an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art in London in 2022. His work has been exhibited internationally, including Iceland, Cyprus, Croatia, the UK, and Hawaii.

 

Bartlomiej Hajduk (Slade Fine Art MA) (b. 1990) is a London based Polish artist. He graduated from Camberwell College of Arts, BA Painting (2016) and Slade School of Art, MA Sculpture (2022). Recent group exhibitions include Cedric Bardawil (London), Galeria Monopol (Warsaw), VO Curations (London), UTA Artist Space (Los Angeles), Lewisham Arthouse (London), Arthub Studios (London), Kristin Hjellegjerde (London).

 

Selina Naouma (RCA Photography MA) (b. 1995, Berlin) is a Greek-Austrian, multidisciplinary, feminist artist. She plays and experiments with ideas of entanglement of the universe, the embodiment of identity, and intra-action with the Intimate and the Other. 

 

Her work varies from photography to animation, moving image to sculpture. Somewhere between attraction and disgust, birth and decay, reality and fantasy, she creates colourfully sinister imaginings that question existing power structures and belief systems in contemporary society. 

 

Selina first studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and obtained a BA in visual communication at the University of Applied Sciences Europe, Berlin. Currently living in London, she recently completed an MA in photography at the Royal College of Art.

 

Krystle Patel (Goldsmiths Fine Art MA) is a London based Asian artist born in Texas in the US. Krystle’s first degree was in Dentistry and have recently moved away from clinical work to complete her MFA at Goldsmith’s University. Over the past year projects of note include work with The Florence Trust, Eastside Projects (The Exchange), Deptford X and Air Space gallery. She hosts a monthly radio show with Aaja music and RTM FM, exploring the sound aspects of my work with a third which will connect all three starting at Cubitt radio this October. Krystle was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2021), have had work acquired for the Government Art Collection and was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths/ACME award. Publications and performance include work with TACO, We Are Superfluous and Hundred Years Gallery. Currently Krystle is the artist in residence with the Institute of Neurology at UCL.

 

Hanne Peeraer (RCA Painting MA) (b. 1998) is a Belgian artist who grew up in Italy and is currently living, working and studying in London. She obtained her BA(Hons) in Fine Art, Painting, at Wimbledon College of Arts, and is a recent graduate from the MA Painting at the Royal College of Art. She has exhibited her work in the UK, Belgium, France and Korea. In 2021, she was selected for New Contemporaries and received a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.

 

Cherry Song (Slade Fine Art BA) recently completed a BA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art (2022) and will enrol on MFA programme at the Ruskin School of Art. Recent exhibitions include Group Show, Era Journal, King’s Cross Crypt, London (2022); Stealing Vegetables, Five-Three Gallery, Nantong (2021); JUICE, Merchiston Gallery, Shenzhen (2020); and Young Artists Group Exhibition, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (2017).
