Too Many Earth Wires : Recent works by Stephanie Farmer

6 July - 31 August 2019

This exhibition concludes Stephanie Farmer’s two year residency at Eltham College and is a display of recent works. The title indicates a surfeit of objects, questionable functionality, the possibility of a black-out. This is reflected in the use of warped shapes and musty objects, discarded by their original owner. Works take the form of fan-shaped reliefs or shaped canvases. How works are displayed is an ongoing concern with paper stretched or pressed flat. Transparent materials allow light to enter from various angles; holes in the work allow the wall behind to be visible. Shaded light is incorporated through the use of printing processes and references to early photography.

Gerald Moore Gallery presents the second solo exhibition of Stephanie Farmer. Born in 1986, she lives and works in London having studied at The Ruskin School of Art.
